GEOINTEC COMPLETES TWO GEOTECHNICAL STUDIES IN THE PROVINCE OF IMBABURA IN ECUADOR
Geointec has completed two geotechnical studies for two photovoltaic solar parks to be built in the province of Imbabura in Ecuador, with a total area of more than 400 hectares.
For each of the projects, different types of soil mechanics and geophysics tests were carried out to determine the geotechnical units of the site as well as the geomorphology and analysis of the active processes that could put the projects at risk during their operation phase.
Based on the soil types found, the depth of each geotechnical unit was determined and the most appropriate foundation method for each park (driven steel profiles, driven with pre-drilling, micropiles, heli-piles, screw-piles, ballasted solutions, etc.).
For the development of the works Geointec has alliances with local Ecuadorian companies that allow it to offer its ground engineering services through geotechnical studies, hydrological studies, pull out test and topography with the accumulated experience of more than 30 GW of equivalent ground analyzed worldwide.
Geointec is currently headquartered in Madrid (Spain), with subsidiaries in Chile (Santiago) and France (Lyon), and has recently opened a new subsidiary in Australia (Sydney).
