The Galápagos Island has been chosen as the stage for GEOINTEC’s next major project, and it’s not small feat. This Ecuadorian archipelago, famous for inspiring Darwin’s theory of evolution, will now witness a technological evolution thanks to an innovative hybrid solar energy and wind park.

Geointec was commissioned to carry out the project’s fundamentals studies for this hybrid wind-solar in a protected environment in the Galápagos Islands such as: Geotechnical studies, topographical survey and hydrological and hydraulic study

From Madrid to Giant Tortoise! GEOINTEC ventures into one of the world’s most protected ecosystems
The solar park will be equipped with an Advanced Battery Storage System (BESS), technology that will optimize solar energy utilization on these remote islands. Strict international regulations were successfully navigated thanks to the company’s more than two decades of experience.
The Galápagos Penguins weren’t the only ones watching with curiosity: the project required support from an Ecuadorian partner who provided all necessary machinery and logistics in such remote location. “It’s a step towards a more sustainable future for the Galápagos”, the company celebrates.
Based in Madrid, España 🇪🇸, and with presence in Santiago (Chile)🇨🇱, Lyon (France)🇫🇷 and Sydney (Australia)🇦🇺, GEOINTEC has analyzed soils equivalent to over 70 GW of energy production across 50 countries around the world. This project promises to be another jewel in their crown of global leadership in renewable energy.
