Geotechnical Study for the project of a photovoltaic solar plant in Kenya

During October 2014, we conducted the campaign of geotechnical and geophysical investigation for the photovoltaic solar plant project in Kenya. Have been developed the following activities:

  • PANDA 2 Variable Energy Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) tests Penetration tests.
  • Construction of stratigraphic columns and sampling by trial pits.
  • Electrical tomography profiles for obtaining resistivity measurements for the dimensioning and installation of the electrical facilities.
  • In situ resistance cutting tests by  Vane Test.
  • Corrosivity testing ground for galvanized steel, according to ANSI / AWWA C-105 and DVGW GW9 classifications.
  • Characterization of geothermal levels detected and zoning study area based on their thickness.
  • Checks the E.L.U. and E.L.S. for different foundation solutions for each study area.
