GEOINTEC strengthens its position as a leader in solar energy development with four major solar photovoltaic projects totaling 240 MW across Ireland.
Geointec, has been commissioned to conduct comprehensive geotechnical studies across four strategic locations in the counties of Roscommon, Galway, Kilkenny, and Waterford. These projects represent a significant milestone in Ireland’s solar energy expansion and demonstrate GEOINTEC’s growing international presence in the solar energy sector.
The engineering campaign was designed to assess soil conditions comprehensively through geotechnical studies, topographical surveys, and hydrological studies. Each site has been carefully evaluated to determine optimal foundation solutions and identify potential risks that could impact the solar installations’ performance and longevity.
For us at GEOINTEC, The main operational challenge lies in coordinating our specialized teams efficiently while meeting strict client deadlines. The complexity is heightened by the diverse characteristics of each land parcel and the logistical demands of managing multiple projects across different Irish counties.
Safety standards have been maintained at the highest level throughout the campaign. All Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations are being strictly followed, including comprehensive Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS), specialized training programs, and local accreditation requirements.
GEOINTEC’s comprehensive service portfolio encompasses all soil studies required for solar plant development and construction. The company delivers geotechnical studies, topographical surveys, hydrological assessments, and pull-out tests (POT) with a focus on maximizing quality and operational efficiency.
