GEOINTEC has successfully completed a total of 400 pull out test campaigns in Chile during the first two months of 2025, spanning 9 utility scale and PMGD solar projects totaling 735 MW of installed capacity. This technical achievement consolidates the Spanish company as a leader in geotechnical engineering for Latin America’s renewable energy sector.

735 MW Analyzed Across Five Chilean Regions
Throughout January and February 2025, GEOINTEC conducted 9 pull out test (POT) projects distributed across 5 different regions of the country, totaling 735 MW and 400 tests. This accomplishment demonstrates GEOINTEC’s ability to lead large-scale engineering initiatives for ongoing projects in Chile, particularly in executing multi-project POT campaigns.
The campaigns involved preliminary engineering and the definition of both technical protocols and execution strategies for field campaigns. Ramming and load tests are crucial for verifying foundations and solar tracker behavior in relation to terrain bearing capacity.
Operational Challenges in Extreme Conditions
From an operational perspective, the main challenge has been coordinating teams and meeting deadlines while considering each region’s particular characteristics and the extreme climatic conditions typical of summer season in Northern Chile. To achieve this, GEOINTEC leverages local resources and machinery alongside technical direction and engineering from its headquarters, ensuring compliance with schedules and technical work protocols.
The company possesses all necessary resources to provide comprehensive management of soil studies required for photovoltaic solar park development and construction, including:
- Geotechnical studies
- Topographical surveys
- Hydrological studies
- and of course, those famous Pull out tests
