A specialized team of Geointec traveled for several weeks along the Chilean territory, to carry out a geotechnical study for the future construction of a transmission line.
Geointec conducted the geotechnical study for an 250 kilometers long electric transmission line that is being developed in northern Chile.
The study, carried out by a specialized team of Geointec, covered 250 kilometers of extension where the construction works of the transmission line are currently being developed.
The preparation of the study consisted of different phases of research with the objective of optimizing the geotechnical research campaign.
The power line system will link three substations, will be double-circuited, with a voltage of 220 kilowatts (kV), and will serve as a reinforcement to the current system and to the renewable energy generating facilities that are being developed in the area.
The investment of this project will be approximately 125 million dollars (approximately 107 million euros), and it is expected that the construction of will have an estimated duration of 48 months. It will also include the construction of one of the three electrical substations which will serve as a link.
The project will be integrated into the Chilean national electric transmission system.
