GEOINTEC carried out the geotechnical and topographic study for a solar photovoltaic and battery storage project in Australia. The hybrid energy project included a battery energy storage system (BESS) with a capacity exceeding 100 MWh. GEOINTEC worked alongside Australia‘s most notable residents to conduct a thorough site assessment and investigation.
Located in Queensland and spanning over 1,000 hectares, this landmark project was managed by our Sydney subsidiary under the careful oversight of our headquarters in Madrid.
Proper engineering planning and design for any renewable energy project require a high-quality on-site topographical survey. GEOINTEC delivers top-tier land surveys utilizing a combination of ground-based GPS/GNSS and aerial LiDAR and photogrammetry techniques. High-precision and high-resolution surveys with detailed information are essential for the successful development of any utility-scale PV, BESS, or wind project.
Additionally, GEOINTEC conducted a preliminary geotechnical study of the site. Based on the client’s requirements and local conditions, GEOINTEC developed a customized site investigation plan, incorporating test pits, dynamic penetration testing, geophysical prospecting, electrical resistivity tests, thermal resistivity tests, and laboratory analysis. This, combined with GEOINTEC’s global expertise, resulted in a comprehensive geotechnical report assessing geological risks, construction conditions, site constraints, and critical factors such as pile driving and steel corrosion.
Experience, excellence, and global reach define GEOINTEC. Established over 22 years ago in Spain, GEOINTEC has built a strong international presence. Since 2014, we have specialized in solar and wind projects, analyzing land equivalent to over 70 GW across 50 countries. Headquartered in Madrid, we operate subsidiary offices in Santiago (Chile), Lyon (France), and Sydney (Australia). 🌞
